Katrine Reimers
Katrine conducted our Verdi Requiem workshop
in April 2009.
Katrine Reimers studied music at King's College, Cambridge, Piano
Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and was a
trainee repetiteur at the National Opera Studio. She has worked as a
pianist for many opera companies including the Royal Opera, English
National Opera, The Classical Opera Company and Independent Opera. She
has both directed and conducted productions for Hampstead Garden Opera
and from 2002-2006 was Musical Director of East London-based Vision
Community Opera. In 2007 she was assistant conductor for Paddock
Production's collaboration with Finnish National Opera on Orlando Gogh's
The Finnish Prisoner. She is Chorus Master at Opéra de
Baugé for the 2009 Summer Festival, having worked as repetiteur
and harpsichord continuo player with them since 2005.
Katrine has done extensive work for the education departments of English
National Opera and Opera Brava as well as the Royal Opera and is a
pianist on the Live Music Now! scheme. She trains children's choirs at
the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle and is Musical
Director of Takepart! Saturday morning Performing Arts school in Marylebone.
Her choral conducting experience includes Lewisham Choral Society, the
South-West Essex Choir and Croydon Philharmonic Chorus. Katrine has coached and
accompanied numerous singers for auditions, radio broadcasts, recitals
and competitions.
